Prayer

In my last “thoughts” I suggested that you take some time to pray for a request after the pattern that Jesus gave us.  My prayer is for the country of Guinea Conakry in West Africa.  At a recent conference, I met Pastor Daniel who is a missionary to this country.  My prayer is for the church in this country.  Here is my prayer:

Our heavenly Father, we come to you as our omnipotent Father with reverence and awe in our hearts concerning the church in Guinea Conakry and Pastor Daniel.  We know that you rule over the entire universe and that by your power the church can overcome every difficulty.  We pray that your kingdom, your rulership, will come in full force to this country.  We pray that your will shall be done in this country and in the church.

We pray that you will supply every physical and financial need to the church.  As people turn to you, we pray that you will meet their needs.  Also, we know that sometimes problems arise and your people need to forgive each other.  Please help all the saints to realize that you forgive them and expect them to forgive others.  We pray that you will help the saints to avoid all temptation and that you will keep them from all evil. You defeated evil at the cross.  Now, we pray that you will help the people of God to realize that victory in their daily lives.

Now, we join with the saints in this Guinea-Conakry in recognizing your power and glory and in full acknowledgment that yours is the kingdom.  We rejoice that you, in all of your power and glory, will bless the church.  We thank you with great gratitude in our hearts.  Amen.

NAU  Matthew 6:9 “Pray, then, in this way: ‘Our Father who is in heaven, Hallowed be Your name. 10 ‘Your kingdom come. Your will be done, On earth as it is in heaven. 11 ‘Give us this day our daily bread. 12 ‘And forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. 13 ‘And do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil. For Yours is the kingdom and the power and the glory forever. Amen .’”
